At the NEW SILK WAY international transport forum in Astana, Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport and China's China Transinfo Group signed a memorandum of understanding on driverless transport and digitalisation of the transport sector. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The document lays the foundation for long-term cooperation on introducing driverless transport technologies and digital solutions into the transport sector.
"This year, Kazakhstan and Russia carried out a pilot run of driverless trucks on the Astana–Moscow route. One of the next steps is to consider, jointly with China, the possibility of launching such a project on individual sections of international transport corridors," the report says.
This will contribute to the development of international road transport between Kazakhstan and China and strengthen transport links.
