Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov at a government meeting ordered the introduction of an intelligent traffic flow management system in areas with heavy traffic in cities. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to him, taking into account urbanization, it is necessary to form a unified digital transport system. It will allow full accounting of transport assets, real-time traffic management, load forecasting and early identification of possible risks.
"It is necessary to move to systemic management of the industry, rather than acting only during traffic congestion in large cities. This directly affects the movement of citizens, the safety and quality of the urban environment," Bektenov said.
The Ministry of Transport, together with akimats, must within two months identify the most congested sections in large cities and launch a pilot mode of the intelligent traffic flow management system there. As a result, effective solutions will be widely implemented.
