Firefighters in Kokshetau extinguished a bitumen fire on the territory of an asphalt plant located on the border of the city and Zerenda district of Akmola region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the regional emergency department, the fire area was 100 square meters. Rescuers responded to the scene with an increased response level.
"Twenty-five employees of the Akmola region emergency department and eight pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. There are no casualties or injuries. The cause of the fire is being determined," the department reported.
The department reminded about the need to comply with fire safety requirements at industrial facilities. Special attention should be paid to the safe storage and use of bitumen, the serviceability of equipment, and the availability of primary fire extinguishing means.
