Kokshetau has resumed modernization of apartment buildings: the first building on Bykovsky Street was renovated in 45 days. In total, 320 buildings in the city need renovation. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The building had its roof replaced, entrances repaired, plastic windows and entrance groups installed, and the facade updated. The results of the work were inspected by regional akim Marat Akhmetzhanov, who also met with residents.
Goals of the modernization program
The modernization is being carried out under the Concept for 2023-2029, implemented on the instructions of the president. Its goal is to improve the technical condition of apartment buildings and living conditions.
According to Akhmetzhanov, local executive bodies allocate funds that come through Kokshe-MZhD LLP. Owners gradually return the money, allowing it to be directed to the modernization of subsequent buildings.
Residents participate in decision-making
Residents participate in decision-making: together with property owners' associations, they select the contractor, develop the design and approve materials.
"After the modernization, the building has noticeably transformed, and we, the residents, are pleased to see such changes; its condition directly affects the comfort and quality of our daily lives. We hope that the work carried out will last a long time, and we will try to keep the entrances in good condition," said Zayda Bozhkeyeva, a resident of the building.
Targeted work carried out on 107 buildings
Of the 320 buildings in need of modernization, targeted work has already been carried out on 107. In addition, design and estimate documentation for the repair of five elevators in four buildings is undergoing expert review.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that in Almaty residents were outraged by the painting of only the end part of a building on Nazarbayev Avenue. The akimat of the Bostandyk district explained that the contractor carried out the work on its own initiative and at its own expense, and the repair of buildings No. 235 and No. 237A could be considered at subsequent stages, taking into account priorities and the availability of budget funds.
