A foreign national suffered severe burns after attempting to set fire to property of the Central Park of Culture and Recreation in Kokshetau. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The incident occurred on the night of June 12 on the central square near the monument to Abylai Khan. According to police, at around 01:05, a foreign national in a state of alcohol intoxication was disturbing public order.
The Department of Internal Affairs of Akmola Region reported that the man posed a threat to others and attempted to set fire to property of the Central Park of Culture and Recreation.
Due to his own carelessness, the man caught fire. He was taken to the hospital with severe burns. According to the Telegram channel HALYQSTAN, up to 80% of the victim's body surface was burned.
Police noted that a day before the incident, on June 11, the man had already been brought to administrative responsibility for appearing in a public place while intoxicated.
In addition, he had previously come to the attention of law enforcement agencies multiple times for violating public order.
A criminal case has been opened regarding the incident. Investigative authorities are establishing all circumstances of the incident. The progress of the investigation is under personal control of the leadership of the Department of Internal Affairs of Akmola Region.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that a fire in the Chinese city of Dalian destroyed about 20 new electric vehicles, presumably Geely Galaxy A7 sedans. According to CarNewsChina, the cause of the fire could have been a 74-year-old local resident who set fire to accumulated poplar fluff.
