A gas-air mixture explosion occurred in an apartment of a six-story residential building on Saduakasov Street in Kokshetau. Rescuers carried a man born in 1935 out of the apartment. He is currently in the hospital. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The report of the incident was received by the "112" dispatch center. The explosion occurred on the third floor. Upon arrival, the Ministry of Emergency Situations unit established that there was no subsequent fire. There was also no collapse of structures.
A 19-liter gas cylinder was used in the apartment. Rescuers handed the man over to an ambulance crew. The evacuation of the other residents of the building was not carried out.
The preliminary cause of the incident, according to the Emergency Situations Department of Akmola Region, was a violation of safety requirements during the operation of the gas cylinder.
