According to the Akmola Regional Court, since 2024 a resident of Kokshetau, an individual entrepreneur, provided services for processing documents for employment abroad. On social media he presented himself as a blogger and posted information about his services.
Misleading citizens, he concluded contracts for employment abroad, promised to arrange visas and medical insurance, discussed flight times to England and received money for the services provided.
“Falsifying documents, he took from 250,000 to 1 million tenge from each applicant for the service. After receiving the money, he failed to fulfil his obligations and evaded responsibility (avoided meetings, did not answer phone calls),” the statement said.
As a result of his criminal actions, he took possession of funds belonging to 92 citizens from the cities of Kokshetau, Astana and Karaganda, as well as the Akmola, Karaganda, Kostanay, North Kazakhstan and Kyzylorda regions, totalling about 70 million tenge.
By court verdict he was sentenced to 6 years and 8 months of imprisonment, and was also deprived of the right to engage in activities related to attracting citizens’ funds into commercial and other activities for 5 years.
However, due to the presence of his two minor children, the serving of the imprisonment sentence was deferred for 1 year.
The civil claims of 28 victims were satisfied, and material damage was recovered in their favour in amounts ranging from 200,000 tenge to more than 1 million tenge for each.
The court verdict has not entered into legal force.
