Vice Minister of Energy Kairkhan Tutkushev announced when construction of the Ishim-Astana gas pipeline, designed to supply gas to Astana, Kokshetau and Petropavlovsk, will begin. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to him, last year a corresponding memorandum was signed with the Russian company Gazprom regarding this project.
"Currently, the national company QazaqGaz and Gazprom are discussing the terms of the contract regarding the gas transportation tariff. After a final decision is made on these agreements, design and estimate documentation will be developed and we will begin construction work," Tutkushev said at a briefing in the government.
According to the vice minister, the construction of the gas pipeline must be completed by 2030, and by that time the first gas must be supplied through the pipeline.
"After the contracts are signed, work will begin. Next year, the project documentation will undergo state expertise. And at the end of the year, the first construction work will begin," the vice minister concluded.
