Caitlin Clark had 26 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for her fourth career triple-double. Kelsey Mitchell also scored 26 points. The Fever (19-10) won their fifth straight game and have won nine of their last 11. They also scored over 100 points for the fifth consecutive game.
Bridget Carleton scored 26 points for the Fire (11-18), who have lost four straight. The Fever pulled away in the third quarter, leading by 18 points and taking a 90-72 advantage into the fourth. Makayla Timpson's layup early in the fourth extended the lead to 10 points.
Portland closed the gap to 98-88 on Carleton's 3-pointer, and her layup made it 100-93. But Clark hit free throws in the final minute to make it 110-96, and the Fire ran out of time.
Before the game, a rally was held outside Moda Center in support of Sophie Cunningham and her recent comments about barring transgender athletes from women's sports. A similar rally occurred before Tuesday's game against the Seattle Storm. Cunningham was booed when she entered the game midway through the first quarter. She finished with 13 points, and her 3-pointer gave the Fever a 14-8 lead.
The game was a sellout with a Fire-record 19,959 in attendance.
