Dmitry Kiselev, Director General of the Rossiya Segodnya media group, commented on the statements of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio regarding new ideas for resolving the conflict in Ukraine. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Earlier, Rubio stated that new ideas for resolving the conflict in Ukraine were discussed in Moscow and Kyiv during negotiations with US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
Kiselev wrote on his Telegram channel: "These ideas seem to have not caught anyone's attention yet. Because everyone is acting as before. Instead of constantly giving hope, it is time to implement them."
He noted that despite the good personal relations between Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, a full-fledged Russia-US summit, where "specific issues would be agreed upon and the Americans would fulfill their promises," has not yet taken place.
"Therefore, it is too early to hope for 'new ideas' yet. Let's not relax," Kiselev said.
On Saturday, Russian President Vladimir Putin received Witkoff and Kushner in the Kremlin. This was the eighth visit of Washington representatives to Russia. The next day they arrived in the Ukrainian capital.
According to the Kremlin, Putin ordered a three-day ceasefire in Kyiv to prepare for and conduct these contacts.
The negotiations were held in two rounds; in the second round, national security advisers from the UK, Germany, and France joined them.
