A network of call centers in Kyiv that recruited drug couriers for the drug business has been dismantled. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The ministry conducted a special operation to eliminate call centers of international criminal groups jointly with the National Police of Ukraine and the prosecutor general's offices of both countries. On May 28, the activities of call centers belonging to a criminal organization engaged in the production and distribution of synthetic drugs in Europe and CIS countries were stopped in Kyiv.

The investigation revealed that these centers were used to involve people in the drug business. Operators and managers searched for people in Kazakhstan for the roles of drug couriers and packers and illegally hired them, said Yeldar Abdikenov, deputy chairman of the Committee on Combating Drug Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.

As a result of the special operation, 11 people were detained. Among them are organizers, operators and employees involved in illegal recruitment. Searches were conducted at nine addresses, about $40,000, €10,000, a Range Rover, 18 mobile phones, 12 laptops and tablets were seized.

Currently, the data on the seized equipment is being studied. Also, the accounts of the organizers have been identified, and a financial investigation is underway.
