North Korea's General Missile Bureau conducted a test launch of a tactical ballistic missile. The tests confirmed the growth in power and accuracy of the weapons, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the agency, the launch took place on October 12 to verify updated components of the missile system. The testing, aimed at the technical development of weapons, was conducted jointly with specialized research institutes.

"The General Missile Bureau stated that the technical update of the main element, confirmed on that day, is a great success, predicting important changes in improving the power and accuracy of all systems of offensive weapons," KCNA reported.

Recall that in early October, the armed forces of the DPRK launched an unidentified missile in an eastern direction toward the Sea of Japan, or the East Sea.

The exact technical characteristics, including range and flight altitude, are currently being determined. According to the Japanese Ministry of Defense, the launched object could be a ballistic missile. Japanese sailors were warned against approaching the fallen debris of the projectile.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that South Korean President Lee Jae-myung proposed that North Korea begin negotiations on a formal end to the Korean War and discuss measures to curb the development of Pyongyang's nuclear program.
