In the first 8 months of 2026, 4 million 302 thousand tonnes of oil were transported through the Kenkiyak–Atyrau trunk oil pipeline system. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to KazTransOil, this figure is 394 thousand tonnes, or 10%, higher than in the same period last year.

Domestic market supplies

Of the total, the company transported 3 million 618 thousand tonnes of oil to the domestic market. This is 261 thousand tonnes, or 8%, above the figure for the same period in 2025.

Export direction

685 thousand tonnes of oil were shipped for export. This is 133 thousand tonnes, or 24%, more than in the first 8 months of last year.

Freight turnover

In the first 8 months of 2026, the freight turnover of oil via the Kenkiyak–Atyrau trunk oil pipeline amounted to 1 billion 784 million tonne-kilometres. This is 125 million tonne-kilometres, or 8%, higher compared with the same period in 2025.

Reasons for growth

The growth in production indicators is primarily linked to an increase in transportation volumes to the domestic market aimed at supplying domestic oil refineries, as well as to higher oil transportation volumes in the export direction in line with the Ministry of Energy's schedule, the company says.
