Kazhydromet has issued a storm warning for September 17 in some regions of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
What weather is expected
In the west, north and east of the country, there will be rain with thunderstorms. In the mountainous areas of the East Kazakhstan region, rain and wet snow are possible at night. No significant precipitation is expected in the rest of the territory.
In some regions, the wind will strengthen to 15-20 m/s. A dust storm is possible in the south of the Turkestan region. Fog is forecast at night and in the morning in the west, north, east and center of the country.
Where rain and thunderstorms will occur
Rain and thunderstorms are expected in the West Kazakhstan, Kostanay, North Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan, Abai and Mangystau regions.
Where the wind will strengthen
Strong wind is forecast in the Aktobe, Almaty, Turkestan, Kyzylorda, Akmola, Zhambyl and other regions. In Shymkent and Turkestan, gusts of the northeast wind will reach 15-20 m/s.
Will there be frost
In the Karaganda region, at night in the north and east, frosts down to 2 degrees are expected on the soil surface.
Fire danger
Extreme fire danger remains in the Kyzylorda, Turkestan, Zhambyl, Aktobe, Almaty regions and the Ulytau region, as well as in certain districts of several other regions.
In Astana and Almaty, high fire danger remains, in Konaev – extreme.
