Following a tragic incident in the Caspian Sea, the former commander-in-chief of the Naval Forces has been arrested. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the arrest. A criminal case has been initiated by the ministry's military investigation structure.
The former commander-in-chief of the Naval Forces is charged with negligence in the performance of his official duties.
He has been placed in a pre-trial detention center.
It is noted that before the Caspian tragedy, the position of commander-in-chief of the Naval Forces was held by Kanat Niyazbekov. He also holds the rank of Captain 1st Rank.
