On the evening of August 15, near the Kenderli recreation area, three residents of Zhanaozen went to sea on an inflatable boat and disappeared. Relatives reported this to the 112 emergency line. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Emergency workers immediately organized a large-scale rescue operation. Drones and a Kazaviaspas helicopter were involved in the search.

"During the search, rescuers found one of the men who was swimming towards the shore on his own. They brought him aboard and delivered him to the shore," the statement said.

The search for the remaining two men continued at night. The work was complicated by darkness and the large area of the water area. In particular, the search was organized in four sectors in different directions.

"Rescuers surveyed more than 20 kilometers of the water area, and aerially over 70 kilometers. As a result, the remaining two men were found alive by a search group 10 kilometers from the shore," the statement said.

The operation involved not only rescuers and volunteers, but also Kazakh border guards.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that a 41-year-old resident of Astana overestimated his strength while swimming across the Yesil River under the Arys bridge. He was lucky because nearby rescuers quickly reacted and pulled the drowning man out of the water.

Previously, it was reported that in the city of Zhitikara, Kostanay region, emergency workers saved a woman who began to drown while swimming in the Shortandy River. And in Semey, rescuers prevented an accident on the water by helping a man who was in the river while intoxicated.
