The bodies of three servicemen from western Kazakhstan who died in the Caspian Sea tragedy have been returned to their homeland. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to information released by the regional akimat, the bodies of Zhenis Temirgaliyev, Omirbek Omirzak and Akzhaiyk Gilazh were delivered today at 08:45 by special flight to the airport in the city of Uralsk.
Funerals to be held on 26 September
The farewell ceremony and burial rites for the fallen servicemen will take place on 26 September.
"On the instructions of the head of state, material assistance will be provided to the families of the deceased by local executive bodies. Representatives of business will also take part in this effort. All necessary measures are being taken to organise the burial rites," the official statement said.
The regional akim has taken everything under his direct control.
The tragedy during exercises
Recall that during exercises, due to a sudden sharp deterioration in weather, 17 servicemen were carried by a wave into the open sea. Fourteen of them died.
25 September is a day of national mourning in Kazakhstan.
