The Ministry of Defense reported the completion of a search and rescue operation conducted in the Caspian Sea. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"On September 25, at around 09:15, during continuous search and rescue efforts, the bodies of two previously missing servicemen – Sergeant Mansur Gumarov and Seaman Miras Turdybekuly – were found," the statement said.
Recall that during exercises, due to a sharp deterioration in weather, 17 servicemen were swept into the open sea by a wave.
Three of them were rescued, and 14 servicemen died.
September 25 is a day of national mourning in Kazakhstan.
