The circumstances of the death of three premature newborns in a maternity hospital in Kaskelen, Karasai district, Almaty region, are being investigated. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to relatives, 28-year-old Aidana Orazbayeva gave birth to triplets at 25–26 weeks of pregnancy. Two boys died almost immediately after birth. The father learned about the death of the third child later and completely by chance, relatives say.

This was the woman's third pregnancy. Together with her husband, she is raising two children — a four-year-old son and a two-year-old daughter. During the last month of pregnancy, Aidana was hospitalized for preservation. On the day of delivery, she briefly went home, but after her water broke, she was urgently hospitalized.

According to relatives, initially the woman was recommended a cesarean section, but later a decision was made for natural delivery.

"We were told they should have done a C-section. But for some reason they made Aidana give birth. In the morning she herself wrote to her husband that two children had died. And the third, the doctors said, was in the ward. We went to bury the two babies. Then we found out the third also died. Why did the doctors hide this from us?" said relative Zhazira Tuleshova.

Family members also claim they were not informed of the cause of death of the newborns. According to them, the bodies of two children were handed over without any documents.

"They gave us two children in a box without any documents. Personally, at half past one in the afternoon, they handed me two children in a box. We want to know how this all happened, how we lost our children. What happened? We demand an exhumation and DNA confirmation of all three children," said relative Yerzhan Yekeybaev.

The Karasai Clinical Multidisciplinary Central District Hospital reported that medical care was provided to the patient in accordance with current clinical protocols. According to the medical institution, the birth occurred at 25 weeks of pregnancy, and all three children were born with extremely low birth weight.

"Triplet birth at 25 weeks is a critical condition and requires immediate hospitalization. Birth weight up to 500 grams is considered extremely low, and vital organs, especially the lungs and central nervous system, are not yet fully formed," the press service of the Karasai Clinical Multidisciplinary Central District Hospital said.

The family is now awaiting the release of the third child's body. Relatives have filed a complaint with the police and demand that all circumstances be established, and that those responsible be held accountable if violations are found.

The final cause of death of the three newborns will be determined by forensic examination.
