Kazakhstan Vice President Erlan Karin met with representatives of Muslim and Christian organizations as part of the XXIV meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Participants discussed religious education, interreligious dialogue and preparations for the next Congress, according to Akorda.

Karin, who heads the Congress Secretariat, discussed the agenda of the upcoming meeting and further cooperation within the framework of the forum with foreign representatives.

At a meeting with the chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, the vice president noted his many years of contribution to the formation of the Congress. Karin emphasized the importance of his participation in promoting the ideas of peace, mutual respect and harmony.

Adviser to the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar on international cooperation Abdulrahman Musa conveyed greetings and good wishes from the Grand Imam to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The parties discussed prospects for Kazakhstan's cooperation with Al-Azhar in the field of religious education, enlightenment and interreligious dialogue.

With Deputy Secretary General of the World Muslim League Abdulrahman Abdullah Al-Zaid, Karin discussed the organization's many years of participation in the Congress. He noted the importance of further supporting the forum and its practical initiatives.

Another meeting was held with the Deputy Secretary General of the Anglican Communion, Bishop Jo Bailey Wells. Karin noted her personal contribution to the development of the forum and the community's many years of participation in its work.

"Hope was also expressed for the participation of the Archbishop of Canterbury, Sarah Mullally, in the work of the IX Congress, which will be held in Astana in 2028," the Akorda statement says.

Foreign participants of the meetings also congratulated Kazakhstan on the adoption of the new Constitution.
