Model Jennifer An, who alleges Kanye West (now known as Ye) choked her on a music video set, has told the BBC she felt "suffocated, unsure and scared". This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing BBC News.
An, 24 at the time, was hired to appear in the US music video for La Roux's song In For The Kill. She claims West arrived unexpectedly and assaulted her. Lawyers for the rapper do not deny the encounter but argue it was part of an "intense and provocative theatrical performance" emulating a scene from American Psycho.
Speaking on the BBC's Fame Under Fire podcast, An said West choked her with both hands, smeared her makeup, and stuck his fingers in her mouth, simulating oral sex. Crew members did not intervene. The incident ended when West yelled "this is art, I'm Picasso" and abruptly left.
West did not appear in the final video. An said she spoke to La Roux (Elly Jackson), who apologized and promised not to share the footage. In 2024, An contacted La Roux via Instagram to remind her of the incident.
