EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas proposed creating a special working group for Ukraine negotiations. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

In an interview with RTE television, Kallas said that EU institutions have the capacity to form such a group. "We have EU institutions that can form a team, because this is collective work. I worked as a lawyer for most of my professional life and participated in many negotiations. It was always teamwork," she said.

She made this remark while answering the question: "Should the EU appoint a special representative for negotiations on Ukraine?" According to Kallas, the group should include specialists who know Russia well. "But it is important that these people protect our interests," she added.

Furthermore, Kallas believes that before negotiations begin, Europe must formulate a common position on security issues.
