Yemen's Houthi movement said it attacked two oil tankers belonging to Saudi Arabia. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Reuters.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea said in a video statement that two vessels were targeted. He said the attacks were carried out to stop aggression against Yemen and in support of the Palestinian people. Saudi Arabia has not yet officially responded.

The incident could further escalate tensions in the Red Sea. The Houthis have previously attacked Saudi oil infrastructure. According to Reuters, the exact timing of the attacks and the extent of damage to the vessels are not yet known.
