Yemen's Houthi movement Ansar Allah has officially announced the imposition of a full and comprehensive ban on the passage of Israeli ships through the Red Sea. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
In an official statement from the group's military command, it is emphasized that from now on, any Israeli maritime transport and vessels associated with Israel are considered by the Houthis as legitimate military targets.
"We impose a full and comprehensive ban on Israeli maritime navigation in the Red Sea and consider all movements of the enemy as legitimate military targets for our armed forces from the moment of publication of this statement," said a message published on Monday on the Telegram channel of the Houthi movement's military spokesman Yahya Sari.
The message notes that the Houthi movement will "respond to escalation with escalation, and military operations will intensify in accordance with the development of the situation on the ground, the course of the battle, and in coordination with the axis of resistance."
The publication confirms that "the armed forces of Yemen carried out a missile strike on sensitive Israeli targets in the Jaffa area."
"We affirm the right of our people to confront American-Israeli aggression," the message emphasizes.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that on June 8, 2026, Israel and Iran exchanged large-scale missile strikes, threatening the ceasefire agreement that had been in effect since April. Later, it was reported that after a series of emergency negotiations with US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to end the wave of attacks on Iran.
