Spain's national team secured their first victory at the 2026 World Cup. In the second round of Group H, Luis de la Fuente's side thrashed Saudi Arabia 4-0. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The match took place on June 21 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Spain – Saudi Arabia 4:0 (3:0). Goals: Yamal 10 (1:0), Oyarzabal 21 (2:0), Oyarzabal 24 (3:0), Al-Tambakti 49-OG (4:0).

After a goalless draw with Cape Verde in the first round, Spain needed to bounce back quickly. This time, the team took control of the ball from the first minutes and relieved the pressure early in the match.

Lamine Yamal opened the scoring in the 10th minute. For the 18-year-old winger, this was his first goal at a World Cup. Yamal returned to the starting lineup and immediately helped Spain gain a comfortable advantage.

Then Mikel Oyarzabal became the main hero of the first half. In the 21st minute, he scored after a pass from Aymeric Laporte, and just three minutes later he completed a double – this time from Dani Olmo's assist. By the 24th minute, Spain led 3-0 and had already decided the match.

After the break, the Spaniards made the scoreline even bigger. In the 49th minute, Hassan Al-Tambakti turned the ball into his own net following a Spanish attack, making it 4-0 for de la Fuente's team.

Saudi Arabia tried to respond with occasional attacks but could not seriously change the course of the match. Spain dominated possession, shot more often, and calmly saw the game out to victory.

After two rounds, Spain has four points. In the final group stage match, the Spaniards will play against Uruguay, while Saudi Arabia will face Cape Verde.

In the other Group H match, Uruguay will play against Cape Verde. Also tonight, two matches in Group G will take place: Belgium vs. Iran and New Zealand vs. Egypt.
