Three matches on Sunday, August 30, continued the 24th round of the Kazakhstan Premier League. Astana won a high-scoring match against Atyrau, Irtysh staged a comeback against Aktobe, and Kaspiy edged Tobol by a minimal margin. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Atyrau – Astana 2:3

The most productive match was Atyrau vs. Astana in Turkistan. The capital club went into the break with a two-goal advantage thanks to Bauyrzhan Islamkhan and Stanislav Basmanov. Immediately after the break, Djordje Pantic reduced the deficit, but in the 66th minute Marin Tomasov restored the visitors' lead. In stoppage time, Enrique Devens set the final score – 2:3. In addition to the goal, Islamkhan provided two assists.

The victory allowed Astana to reach 42 points and reclaim third place. The capital club is three points ahead of Okzhetpes and continues to chase Kairat and league leaders Ordabasy.

Irtysh – Aktobe 2:1

In Pavlodar, Irtysh conceded first to Aktobe: Artur Shushenachev scored in the 37th minute. After the break, the hosts needed only a few minutes to turn the game around. In the 50th minute, Leonardo Kalil equalized, and in the 53rd, Ramazan Karimov scored the winning goal – 2:1.

For Irtysh, this victory was especially important in the fight to stay in the KPL. Pavlodar team reached 20 points and moved up from last place to 13th. Atyrau and Kaisar have the same number of points, while Zhetysu and Altai, who are in the relegation zone, have 19 each. Aktobe remained fifth with 35 points.

Kaspiy – Tobol 1:0

In Aktau, a single goal decided the match between Kaspiy and Tobol. In the 70th minute, Congolese Noah Ndombasi completed the hosts' counterattack and brought them victory – 1:0. Kaspiy reached 26 points and remained tenth, while Tobol with 28 points occupies ninth place.

The 24th round will conclude on August 31 with the match Elimai – Kairat in Semey. The Almaty club has 48 points and, in case of a win, will reduce the gap to leaders Ordabasy to four points. Shymkent team has 55 points after 23 matches.
