Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Islamic Development Bank President Muhammad Sulaiman Al-Jasser. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, Tokayev noted that the Islamic Development Bank has become a reliable partner supporting Kazakhstan's national development priorities over the years. To date, the Islamic Bank has allocated over $4.2 billion to the country. The current and future project portfolio exceeds $3 billion.

In recent years, IsDB has approved the largest financing package in its history. It includes the Water Resources Development Program worth $1.15 billion, as well as a framework agreement worth $1.3 billion aimed at developing infrastructure in Kazakhstan's special economic zones and industrial parks.

The talks covered cooperation within the new strategic partnership framework for 2027-2032. The President confirmed the country's commitment to long-term institutional partnership with IsDB and a favorable investment policy.

The head of state also supported the proposal to hold the annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank Group in Kazakhstan in 2028. The large-scale investment event will bring together representatives of Bank member states, financial institutions, and international investors.
