Yerzhan Sadenov presented data for the first nine months of this year, according to which the crime rate decreased by 15 percent. "To be specific, compared to last year, the number of crimes that decreased exceeds 11 thousand. Particularly grave types of crimes, as well as offenses in public places, on streets, in the family and domestic sphere, among minors and previously convicted persons, have decreased," the statement said.
According to the minister, more than 2.5 thousand crimes were solved in previous years. In addition, 1039 people who were wanted were found, and 154 people hiding abroad were detained. At the request of foreign states, 537 criminals were detained on the territory of Kazakhstan.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that 49 billion tenge has been returned in criminal cases under investigation since the beginning of the year. This is 22.5 percent more compared to the same period last year.
"More than 6.5 billion tenge has been returned to citizens affected by internet fraud. The number of such crimes decreased by 21 percent. In order to suppress them, 8.7 thousand fraudulent and phishing sites, as well as 187 million fraudulent calls, were blocked," the Akorda reported.
With the help of the video surveillance network, more than 2.2 thousand people were identified and detained. Digital solutions made it possible to reduce the number of road traffic accidents by 5 percent. The number of fatalities also decreased by 16 percent, and injuries by 7 percent.
The Head of State gave a number of instructions aimed at further improving the level of law and order and public safety in the country.
