Andrey Slepnev, Minister for Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission, made a working visit to the city of Irkutsk. He arrived at the invitation of Igor Kobzev, governor of Russia's Irkutsk region, and met with local entrepreneurs. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Representatives of Irkutsk business were presented with the benefits of the EAEU-Mongolia trade agreement. During the event, it was noted that the interim trade agreement between the EAEU and Mongolia recently entered into force.
As the Irkutsk region borders Mongolia, local business representatives were informed about the advantages of the agreement.
The document covers 367 product categories for which import customs duties have been eliminated or significantly reduced. These measures are aimed at simplifying trade procedures, cutting administrative costs and increasing regulatory transparency, ultimately improving market access for EAEU goods in Mongolia, including through the elimination or reduction of customs duties, the Eurasian Economic Commission noted.
