If the United States violates the memorandum on cessation of military operations, Iran is ready to move to full-scale defense. This was stated by Iranian Parliament Speaker and head of the Iranian delegation for dialogue with the US, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, as reported by RIA Novosti. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

"We have never stopped preparing to defend our country. If the Americans violate the memorandum, we will be ready at any moment to shift to full-scale defense," Ghalibaf said during a meeting with his Indonesian counterpart.

On July 8–9, the US military carried out several powerful strikes on Iranian territory. The US Central Command explained the action as a response to Iran's actions against commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

In turn, the Iranian military struck US military bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan. This is the second escalation of tensions between Iran and the US since the signing of the memorandum on cessation of hostilities in mid-June.

Additionally, on Thursday, US President Donald Trump announced the termination of the ceasefire regime.
