Mohammad-Bagher Zolghadr, political adviser to Iran's supreme leader, has said the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed as long as US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stay in power. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The information was carried by the Iranian agency Tasnim.
"Our warriors will not open the Strait of Hormuz until the criminal Trump and the bloodthirsty Netanyahu are overthrown from the throne of power," Zolghadr said.
According to him, this decision is only the "first stage of the revenge of the Iranian people."
Iran blocked the Strait of Hormuz from the very first days of the American-Israeli aggression, which began with the bombing of Iranian cities on February 28. Since then, the passage of vessels through this transport corridor has periodically resumed, including under Tehran's control.
However, pre-war volumes of oil and liquefied gas supplies have still not been reached, despite Washington's attempts to organize a route under the cover of the American navy.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that Iran handed seven conditions for opening the Strait of Hormuz to the United States through intermediaries.
