The new ceasefire between Iran and the United States has effectively collapsed. On the night of June 28, Iran carried out missile and drone strikes on US military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain, just hours after a tough statement by US President Donald Trump. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the US side, there were no casualties among US military personnel, and no serious damage to the facilities was recorded.
Shortly before the attack, Donald Trump issued a sharp warning to Tehran, accusing Iran of violating ceasefire agreements.
"There may come a time when we can no longer show restraint and will be forced to finish what we started by military means. If that happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will cease to exist," Trump wrote on social media.
About an hour later, air defense systems in Kuwait began repelling missile and drone attacks, and air raid sirens were activated in Bahrain.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the attacks were a response to recent US military strikes on Iranian territory.
"The US strikes violated the ceasefire agreement and will lead to a complete cessation of the diplomatic process," the IRGC statement said.
It also warned that US bases in the Middle East "will experience hell in the coming days."
In turn, US Central Command said it had earlier carried out new strikes on Iranian military facilities after an Iranian drone attacked an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.
"Iran was given the opportunity to abide by the ceasefire agreement, but it chose not to," US Central Command said.
According to Washington, the targets included communication facilities, air defense systems, drone storage facilities, and infrastructure related to mining the waterway.
One of the main flashpoints remains the Strait of Hormuz, through which about 20% of global oil and liquefied natural gas supplies passed before the war.
The day before, a tanker flying the Panamanian flag was attacked in the strait. This was the second attack on commercial vessels in recent days and sparked a new round of escalation. In response, the US struck Iranian military facilities.
Due to the fighting, hundreds of ships have been blocked in the Persian Gulf. Although traffic through the strait had begun to recover in recent weeks, the new strikes have again called the safety of navigation into question.
Tehran also accuses Washington of failing to uphold its commitments to maintain the ceasefire in Lebanon, where the confrontation between Israel and the Hezbollah movement continues.
Despite several truce agreements, the situation remains unstable: Israel refuses to withdraw troops from occupied territories, and Hezbollah says it will not lay down its arms until Israeli forces fully withdraw from southern Lebanon.
Meanwhile, the day before, Israel and Lebanon signed a framework peace agreement mediated by the United States.
