According to Nazerke Uldakanova, head of the Rehabilitation and Restorative Treatment Center of City Polyclinic No. 16 in Almaty, patients can undergo a course of restorative treatment, including physical therapy, physiotherapy, and other rehabilitation methods, upon referral from their primary care physician.
The program is selected individually based on the diagnosis, health status, and needs of each patient. She emphasized that the main goal is to help a person restore lost functions, regain mobility, increase independence, and improve quality of life.

Uldakanova noted that in the first half of 2026, 11,555 patients underwent a course of medical rehabilitation in Almaty. Of these, 5,412 people received assistance at the second stage of rehabilitation, and 6,143 people at the third stage.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that the Ministry of Health is preparing a new model of pediatric medical care — hybrid. It is planned to combine the work of pediatricians and general practitioners, while pediatric districts will be preserved.
