In 2026, 66% of accidents on intercity routes in Kazakhstan occurred due to driver fault. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Among the main factors, inDrive cites speeding, loss of vehicle control, failure to maintain distance, and dangerous maneuvers. Against this backdrop, the service conducted an in-person safety training for more than 100 drivers from across the country.
Data from the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan
According to the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 91% of road accidents in Kazakhstan occur due to gross violations of traffic rules. On intercity routes, fatigue and microsleep add to the main risks, which can cause a driver to gradually lose concentration.
What was taught at the training?
During the training, drivers were reminded about safe speed and distance, using a phone while driving, signs of fatigue, and the need to take breaks on long trips. Situations where it is safer to refuse or stop a trip were also analyzed.
Participants separately discussed conflicts with passengers and personal boundaries. In case of a threat, the app has an SOS button and a 24/7 support service.
Technological safety measures
The training complements technological safety measures. The company uses more than 30 tools, including monitoring of speeding and signs of fatigue, as well as audio recording of trips to analyze conflict situations. Drivers and cars undergo regular multi-stage checks: documents and maintenance are verified, and photo control is carried out.
Account disabling and insurance
Over the past year, inDrive disabled about 33,000 accounts due to driver or vehicle substitution, as well as the use of right-hand drive cars prohibited for operation. Trips are insured: the life and health of the driver and passengers are covered up to 4 million tenge per trip.
The company notes that training has become part of ongoing safety work and should complement monitoring and incident response technologies.
Earlier, Kursiv Avto reported that careful drivers in Kazakhstan will be able to pay less for insurance.
