When the Yandex Go app stopped working and demand surged, taxi prices on inDrive in some places immediately rose up to 3-fold. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The Competition Protection Agency intervened in the situation. The agency warned the service against unjustified price increases and violations of consumer rights.
In turn, inDrive reported that it had reduced its commission to the minimum level sufficient to pay mandatory taxes and introduced restrictions on the maximum amount of bargaining between passengers and drivers.
"The preliminary warning is aimed at preventing possible violations, protecting consumer rights and ensuring fair competition in the taxi aggregator market," the agency said.
In addition, Yandex warned users about disruptions in the service's operation. This was reported on October 11 at 12:28.
