Four Russian citizens were rescued on Lake Imantau in the Aiyrtau district of North Kazakhstan region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The incident occurred on August 12. The vacationers were on a rubber boat that was carried to an island due to strong winds and high waves. They could not return to shore on their own and had only a mobile phone with them.
The men were wearing life jackets and tried to swim to shore, but underestimated their strength and weather conditions. Strong winds and waves made movement difficult.
After receiving the report, rescuers arrived at the scene and brought all four to shore. They did not require medical assistance.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that two Russian citizens who were injured during a hike were evacuated from a height of 3,510 meters in the mountains of Almaty region. Due to fog, precipitation, and difficult terrain, rescuers first had to reach the group on foot, and after the weather improved, the victims were flown by helicopter to the Medeu site.
