SpaceX founder Elon Musk sharply criticized OpenAI's leadership after the company decided to end cooperation with the developer of the Cursor code editor. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
"I don't care at all. Fraudster Altman and Greg Stockman are completely untrustworthy scoundrels who stole a non-commercial open-source project," Musk wrote on social network X.
OpenAI decided to end its partnership with Cursor after SpaceX acquired the company. Cursor's access to OpenAI models is planned to be disabled on November 12, 2026. Additionally, future OpenAI models, including Astra, will no longer be available to Cursor.
OpenAI stated that Musk's companies violated the terms of cooperation. Among them were mentioned X after the purchase of Twitter and xAI.
Elon Musk was one of the founders of OpenAI, but later left the company. Since then, he has repeatedly criticized its leadership and the change from the original non-commercial model.
In May 2026, a US court dismissed Musk's lawsuit against OpenAI. Federal jurors in Oakland unanimously decided that the businessman filed the lawsuit too late and the statute of limitations had expired.
The billionaire demanded about $150 billion in compensation and sought to revoke OpenAI's commercial status. He claimed that the company and Microsoft illegally profited from OpenAI's assets after its transition to a commercial model.
During the trial, OpenAI representatives stated that Musk knew about the plans to create a commercial direction and initially supported them. Altman, Brockman, and former OpenAI board member Shivon Zilis also testified. Brockman, in particular, said that Musk insisted on gaining full control over OpenAI to implement the project of creating a city on Mars.
