The Ministry of Internal Affairs has warned drivers about increased traffic control using digital technologies. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to Baglanbek Aitpayev, Deputy Chairman of the Administrative Police Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, drones, mobile complexes on patrol cars, average speed control systems and laser complexes help identify traffic violators.
Role of drones
"For example, unmanned aerial vehicles monitor traffic from the air. They record drivers who exceed speed and grossly violate traffic rules. Most importantly, drones help respond promptly to violations and prevent road accidents," says Aitpayev.
Mobile complexes
Mobile complexes installed on patrol cars also play an important role in traffic monitoring. They automatically detect data such as mobile phone use, failure to yield to pedestrians, speeding and violation of maneuvering rules.
Average speed control
"On suburban roads, a system for controlling the average speed of vehicles is used. Currently, this system is implemented on 12 main routes of republican significance," the Ministry's representative noted.
Laser systems
In addition, laser systems are used to prevent accidents. They are especially important for detecting driver fatigue or drowsiness at night and in adverse weather conditions.
Additional measures
According to him, along with digital technologies, work is underway to artificially narrow the roadway. This encourages drivers to reduce speed and pay more careful attention to the road.
