Hyundai has announced a recall of 96,300 crossovers in the US due to a software error that can cause the digital instrument panel to fail while driving. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the software glitch can cause the instrument panel to completely shut down. In such a case, the driver cannot see the speed, warning indicators, and other important information. The regulator believes this malfunction increases the risk of a crash.
The service campaign covers the following popular models: - Hyundai Tucson - Hyundai Santa Fe - Hyundai Palisade - Hyundai Kona - Hyundai Venue
Hyundai will fix the issue with a free software update. Most vehicles will receive it over-the-air (OTA), and if that is not possible, the update will be installed at an authorized dealer. Owners will be notified by mail starting August 22.
Earlier, Kursiv Avto reported on a service campaign for the Hyundai Tucson in Kazakhstan, caused by a risk of malfunction in the frontal collision avoidance system.
