The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved the allocation of a new financial tranche to Ukraine under the existing credit program. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
In a statement, the fund said: "Kyiv has met the requirements set for the first phase of the 48-month extended financing program. As a result, the next financial tranche of approximately $690 million will be immediately transferred to Ukraine."
In February of this year, the IMF approved a four-year, $8.1 billion financing program for Ukraine. Additionally, Ukraine's total external financing needs over these four years amount to $136.5 billion. These funds are planned to be secured through support from international donors and funds freed up by restructuring the state debt.
