A miner has died at the mine of the Donskoy mining and processing plant in the Aktobe region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The tragic incident occurred on 20 October. According to the company, during work to install safety support in the mine, rock mass collapsed onto the miner. The drilling operator died from severe injuries.
Police have opened a criminal case on the fact of causing death by negligence due to violation of safety rules during mining operations. The circumstances of the incident are currently being established.
The plant said it will provide necessary assistance to the family of the deceased.
This incident once again raises the issue of safety at mining enterprises in the region. The Donskoy mining and processing plant is one of the large enterprises located in the Aktobe region. The safety of miners and working conditions must be under constant control.
