The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has restored the rights of the Russian Olympic Committee. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev, the IOC revoked its 2023 decision that banned Russian athletes from competitions and prohibited international events on Russian territory. He also said that checks on the neutral status of Russian athletes have been halted.
However, the IOC statement noted that this decision is temporary.
