The Haval M6 remains one of the most affordable new crossovers in the CIS countries, including Kazakhstan. More and more such cars are appearing on the secondary market. Experts from Auto.ru studied a 2023 model with 204,000 km that had long been used as a taxi and found out what problems appeared during operation. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Despite intensive use, no serious body problems were found. Almost all exterior panels are galvanized, except for the roof, and the car received anti-corrosion treatment at the factory. The car had virtually no chips thanks to a protective film.

However, the model has several characteristic drawbacks:

  • 01There are known cases of fogging of the rear lights and rear-view camera, but dealers eliminated them under warranty.

Even after 200,000 km, the interior remained in good condition. The hard plastic proved to be quite wear-resistant, although the car's age is betrayed by the sagging driver's seat and worn gear selector trim.

Owners also complain about plastic creaks, play in the center armrest, and creaking of the driver's seat.

Most often, questions arise about the multimedia system. Owners encounter freezes, loss of Bluetooth connection, spontaneous reboots, and comfort block errors. For some cars, the manufacturer released service software updates.

There are also complaints about the climate system: in winter, the cabin warms up slowly, and rear passengers may not get enough heat.

The Haval M6 is equipped with a single 1.5-liter turbo engine with a chain drive timing. According to specialists, with timely maintenance, it can last 250–300 thousand km or more.

No serious design flaws were found in the unit, but there are:

  • 01Mechanics recommend regularly flushing radiators and shortening oil change intervals during city driving.

The crossover is available with a six-speed manual and a seven-speed robot. Owners of robotic versions most often complain about jerks when driving in traffic jams. Usually, the problem can be solved by updating the software.

To extend the service life, it is advised to change the oil in the gearbox every 50–60 thousand km. According to a specialized service, if the regulations are followed, the robot can last up to 300 thousand km.

One of the common complaints is brake discs. During active driving, they can overheat and deform, causing steering wheel vibration when braking. In addition, some cars had:

  • 01If the car has been idle for a long time, it is worth checking the adjusting bolts of the rear suspension. Without preventive lubrication, they can sour and complicate repairs.

After inspecting a car with 204,000 km, specialists recommended replacing the front discs and pads, rear pads and tie rods, adjusting the wheel alignment, and eliminating an oil leak near the turbine.

In Russia, such repairs were estimated at 111 thousand rubles — about 650 thousand tenge at the current exchange rate.

Earlier, Kursiv Avto wrote that the Haval M6 entered the top 10 best-selling models in Kazakhstan in the first half of the year.
