UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres's official spokesman Stephane Dujarric said during a briefing that the secretary-general will continue to help resolve the conflict in Ukraine. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"The secretary-general will continue to provide assistance to the best of his ability," Dujarric replied to journalists' question about resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
Dujarric also stated that Guterres's actions are in line with UN General Assembly resolutions, international law and the principle of Ukraine's territorial integrity.
Earlier, Dujarric said Guterres was maintaining contacts with Russia and Ukraine.
In September, the United States stepped up mediation efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff and the president's son-in-law Jared Kushner visited Moscow and Kyiv to discuss possible ways to end the conflict.
The US side also proposed resuming trilateral talks between Russia, the US and Ukraine.
