A citizen of Kazakhstan suspected of large-scale fraud has been extradited from Georgia. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the investigation established that the individual, between November and December 2023, in Almaty, under the pretext of selling a commercial real estate property, fraudulently obtained money from a victim amounting to one and a half million US dollars.

"After committing the crime, the suspect hid from criminal prosecution authorities, and therefore was placed on the international wanted list," the statement said.

In December of last year, he was detained on the territory of Georgia. Currently, the suspect has been placed in a pre-trial detention center.

It is noted that such a crime carries a penalty of up to ten years in prison.
