The results of the competition for state educational grants for the 2026–2027 academic year have been announced in Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek published the results on his social media. According to him, more than 75 thousand grants were allocated for bachelor's degree programs, with 127,041 applications received from applicants.

Who Received the Most Grants

The largest share of grants went to future specialists in engineering, manufacturing and construction industries — 16,674. In second place are pedagogical sciences with 12,228 grants, and in third place are information and communication technologies, which received 10,387 grants.

Another 9,188 grants are provided for natural sciences, mathematics and statistics.

State Order Fulfilled by 98%

According to the Ministry, the state educational order in Kazakhstan has been fulfilled by 98%. This indicates the effective distribution of state grants taking into account the needs of the labor market and the high interest of applicants in the most popular educational programs, Nurbek wrote.

Special Programs

Separately, under the "Serpin" program, 2,180 grants were allocated, and 2,500 for youth from western regions. Another 3,190 grants are provided for studying at branches of foreign universities opened in Kazakhstan.
