The hybrid Haval H6 has received vehicle type approval (OTTS) in Kazakhstan. The document opens the way for serial production and sales of the new crossover version in the country. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the OTTS, the production of the crossover is planned at the multi-brand plant Astana Motors Manufacturing Kazakhstan (AMMKZ). The certificate is valid until the end of July 2029. The enterprise already assembles petrol Haval H6, Jolion, H5, H9, M6 and H6 GT. Thus, the H6 PHEV may become the first hybrid Haval model of Kazakhstani production.

Unlike a number of foreign markets where the model is also available as a conventional hybrid (HEV), Kazakhstan will initially get only the PHEV version with the ability to charge from the grid. The powertrain is based on a 1.5-liter petrol engine GW4B15M with 150 hp and 240 Nm of torque. The engine is designed for AI-92 gasoline.

The front-wheel-drive version will get an electric motor with 177 hp. The total output of the hybrid system is 326 hp and 540 Nm. A 19.09 kWh battery provides up to 106 km of range on electric power alone according to the NEDC cycle. With a discharged battery, the claimed fuel consumption is 5 liters per 100 km.

The all-wheel-drive H6 PHEV is equipped with two electric motors of 109 and 204 hp. The total power of the installation reaches 364 hp (760 Nm). The electric range is up to 100 km, and the consumption with a discharged battery is 5.3 liters per 100 km.

The dimensions of the hybrid Haval H6 are 4703 × 1886 × 1730 mm, and the wheelbase is 2738 mm.

The OTTS also indicates that the crossover will get climate control, cruise control, side curtain airbags, a sunroof and heated washer nozzles. Other details, including trim levels and prices, will be disclosed by the manufacturer closer to the start of sales.

The petrol Haval H6 of the fourth generation was launched in Kazakhstan at the end of 2025. Currently, the model is offered with 1.5- and 2-liter engines, front or all-wheel drive. Prices range from 12.4 to 15.3 million tenge excluding special offers.

Earlier, Kursiv Avto reported that GWM is preparing a hybrid Haval H6L with a lidar.
