In accordance with the instruction of the head of state, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has established the departmental medal "People's Hero Gaziz Baitasov" in honor of the hero. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The first medal was presented as a memorial to the hero's wife, Gulzhamal Tazhieva. From now on, this medal will be awarded to employees of internal affairs bodies who demonstrate courage and heroism in the performance of their official duties.
Gaziz Baitasov was a police captain who died heroically in 2011 in the city of Taraz while performing his official duty during the detention of a terrorist. For his feat, he was posthumously awarded the title of "People's Hero."
The names of true heroes are never forgotten. Their feat will forever be preserved in the memory of the country and will take a place in the hearts of the people.
