Germany intends to make the largest individual contribution among NATO countries in the next military aid package for Ukraine, said German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

In June, the European edition of Politico, citing diplomats from North Atlantic Alliance countries, reported that NATO members are discussing new financial commitments to provide military aid to Ukraine worth €70 billion.

"It (Germany's contribution - ed.) will undoubtedly be the largest individual contribution," Pistorius said in an interview with Bild newspaper, answering a question about the size of Germany's participation. According to him, Kyiv expects to receive funding not only through EU loans but also from a "new support fund."

"We are talking about a total amount of €70 billion," Pistorius confirmed.

Russian Foreign Ministry official spokeswoman Maria Zakharova earlier stated that Germany has become the main sponsor of the conflict in Ukraine.
