German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul stated that Europe faces the task of facilitating the start of negotiations on the conflict in Ukraine. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
In an interview with the RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland (RND) media group, Wadephul said: "Recently, US involvement in the Ukrainian issue has weakened. Therefore, we Europeans have not only gained the opportunity to intervene in this matter, but also face a concrete task."
Speaking about the future format of negotiations, the minister noted that Germany is not bound by rigid positions, takes into account the opinions of partners, and considers common European interests. According to Wadephul, the main goal is to find a path to dialogue.
